Columbia Elementary PTA (parent teacher association) works with the school administration, teachers, staff, and parents to support and enrich our students’ learning experience. Through the efforts of committed volunteers, the PTA provides classroom support, organizes special events and activities, plans teacher appreciation activities, and supports enrichment opportunities for all students. We welcome everyone in our community to join our meetings, become involved, and to share their thoughts and ideas with us. Our goal is to advocate on behalf of all students to create an inclusive, nurturing, empowering and positive school community. |

Dec. 19: Winter Staff Appreciation LuncheonColumbia PTA is hosting a holiday soup/salad luncheon for our wonderful staff on Thursday, Dec. 19. Thank you to Ivar's for generously donating clam chowder & Olive Garden has donated salad & breadsticks.
We are looking to add additional items to round our our lunch including other soups, salads, desserts, and drinks. Please sign-up below if you are able to contribute! |
Jan 30: Dave & Buster Spirit Night and Power Card FUNdraiserPlease join Columbia PTA on January 30, 2025 for our next fundraising night! 20% of all food, non-alcoholic beverages and game play will go towards Columbia PTA. (Must present flyer at time of purchase.) Funds support PTA sponsored activities as well as teacher and classroom grants. Make it a fun night out and don't worry about staying out late - there is no school the next day!
POWER CARD PRE-SALE: If you want to help our PTA earn even more, please consider pre-purchasing a Dave & Buster's Power Card. 50% of each card sold before January 13, 2025 will go towards Columbia PTA. Cards are sold in $10 and $20 denominations with the option to have cards delivered to your student at school or picked-up during fundraising night. Please specify on your order how you want your card delivered. If nothing is specified, cards will be distributed at our fundraising event |
Art Docent Volunteers Needed!Art Docent season is just around the corner and we are looking for volunteers for all grades! The Art Docent program, sponsored by the PTA, is an opportunity for our students to create works of art while learning about different artists and media.
This is a volunteer-driven program and requires 1-2 parent volunteers per classroom once a month from Feburary to May. Lesson plans and materials are provided. No prior art experience or background is necessary. All that is needed is a love of the arts and enthusiasm for working with kids! Feb 13: Multicultural Night- Participants Needed!We're looking for families to participate in this year's Multicultural Night! Ideas include bringing a dish to share, making a poster, sharing a performance or displaying items unique to your culture or heritage. Whether you share something from another country- or a family tradition from right here in Mukilteo, everyone is welcome to participate. To register, please use the link below. 2024-2025: PTA Reflections Art Contest, Now Accepting Entries!Columbia Elementary PTA invites all students to participate in the WSPTA Reflections art recognition program. Reflections is an art contest that encourages creativity in these six categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. This year's theme is "Accepting Imperfection." Students must complete the work themselves. Students who identify as having a disability may enter in the Special Artist Division or grade division most closely aligned to their functional abilities. Dec 13: Popcorn FridayPopcorn FRIDAYs are back! Every last Friday of each month, Columbia PTA provides free popcorn to students during their lunch recess. Volunteers are needed to help with popping, bagging, and distributing popcorn. Kids love seeing their parents, grandparents, or other loved ones at school. Sign up for one shift or several!

Dine-Out Night at Hook & CleaverThank you to everyone who came out to support our Dine-Out Night of the year. Together we raised $400!
Join us at Hook & Cleaver on November 14th for a special dine-out event in support of Columbia Elementary PTA. From 3 pm to close, Hook & Cleaver will be donating 10% of all food and beverage sales to the school.

Support Your ClassroomColumbia PTA has created a Teacher/ Staff Wishlist page for families wishing to support Columbia teachers and staff. With the district wide budget cuts, we recognize many classrooms are underfunded and in need of various supplies and materials.
We also have various staff appreciation events throughout the year. This list will help those who want to give something select items that match staff interest or classroom needs. Thank you for supporting Columbia teachers and staff! |
Food for Thought Pantry Stock-up!A few years ago, the PTA started a program at Columbia called, Food For Thought. This is a resource for teachers to draw from when they have students in need of a snack. It's difficult for hungry brains to learn! We'd like to start the year strong with a stocked pantry. If you are able to give, please drop off items at the school office and let them know it is for, "Food for Thought."
Below is a list of suggested items, but you may donate any items that are nutritious, individually packaged, do not require utensils, and not past their expiration date. Suggested items include: goldfish or other crackers, applesauce pouches, fruit snacks or fruit leather, and granola bars (nut free, please!). |
